What Information Do We Collect?
When you visit our Websites, you may provide us with personal information that is collected on an individual basis, and website use information which we collect as you browse and use our Websites.
1. Personal Information You Choose to Provide
Presto Services Inc. (“Presto”) provides services by which a user can receive email, photos, and content from the Internet without a computer (the “Presto Mail Service” and the “Presto DailySmile Service”, each a “Presto Service” and collectively the “Presto Services”) through the use of a Presto-enabled device (a “Presto Device”). When you register to become a member of a Presto Service (“Member”), you will provide us information about yourself, for example names, addresses, email addresses and billing information as well as information about others. You may also provide additional information if you register to receive specific newsletters or information via our websites.
Communications and Content Information
Presto stores, processes and maintains your messages, photos, Friends list, and other data related to your account in order to provide the services to you. We may also retain a copy of the content of any other materials sent via the Presto Services or any correspondence with Presto.
The Presto Services may also collect your telephone number information for use with certain features of the Presto Services, even if you enable a caller ID blocker. Presto Devices are configured so that *82, which deactivates caller ID blocking, is typically dialed prior to dialing the Presto Services, so that the Presto Services can identify the telephone number from which the Presto Device is calling. The Presto Device, in the alternative, may dial a 1-800 number, which results in the Presto Services being provided with Automatic Number Identification (“ANI”), allowing the Presto Services to identify the telephone number from which the Presto Device is calling.
2. Website Use Information
Similar to other commercial websites, our Websites utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” (see explanation below, “What Are Cookies?”) and web server logs to collect information about how you use our Websites. Information gathered through cookies and web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, the time you spend at our Websites and the websites you visited just before and just after visiting our Website.s We and our partners may also use small pieces of code known as “web beacons” to gather this information.
How Do We Use the Information That You Provide to Us?
Broadly speaking, we use your personal information as well as information derived from your account activity to provide you services, including the Presto Services, to administer, monitor and refine our business operations and marketing activities, to provide customer service, and to make other products and services available to our customers and prospective customers. The Presto Services use your telephone number information when printing through the Presto Device. We may also use the account and other personal information to verify your identity when you access your account over the telephone. Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our Websites, new services or newsletters, and special offers we think you will find valuable. You have the ability to restrict our use of your information by opting out as described herein.
What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a website, that site's computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. You may, if you wish, configure your browser to block cookies.
How Do We Use Information We Collect from Cookies?
Cookies do not allow us to gather any personal information about you, and we do not generally store any personal information that you provided to us in cookies or through web beacons.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
We may enter into alliances, partnerships or other business arrangements with third parties who may be given access to personal information including your name, address, telephone number, billing information, and the email addresses associated with your account. For example, some of our partners may develop and provide the Presto Device, operate stores or provide services on our Websites, while other partners provide or support other offerings developed by us for your use. We also use third parties to facilitate our business, including, but not limited to, sending email and processing credit card payments. In connection with these offerings and business operations, our partners and other third parties may have access to your personal information for use in connection with business activities. In alliances, partnerships, or other business arrangements, where the sole or primary purpose is allowing a third-party to market non-Presto products or services, an option will be provided to opt-out of having personal information shared. As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets or business offerings. Customer, email, and visitor information is generally one of the transferred business assets in these types of transactions. We may also transfer such information in the course of corporate divestitures, mergers, or any dissolution.
How Can You Access and Correct Your Information?
You may access, update or change your account information on the Websites at any time at account.presto.com and/or prestodailysmile.com. To protect your security, we will require your username and password when you log-in to access your account(s). It is your responsibility to keep your username and password secure and to only share such information with those persons authorized to act on your behalf. In addition, you may request access to all of your personally identifiable contact information that we collect online and maintain in our database by emailing CustomerCare@presto.com. If you provide information to us over the telephone, you can correct or update this information by calling customer service at (800) 919-3199.
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the law or comply with legal process served on us or affiliated parties; (b) protect and defend our rights and property, the Websites and Presto Services, the users of the Presto Services, and/or our affiliated parties; (c) act under circumstances to protect the safety of users of the Websites, Members of the Presto Services, us, or third parties.
What About Other Websites Linked to Our Website?
We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Websites nor the information or content contained therein. Often, links to other websites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our Websites.
We consider your personal information to be important and take appropriate measures to protect it from unauthorized access and disclosure. However, no amount of protection measures will ensure absolute security, and you acknowledge that third parties may unlawfully intercept or access your personal information and private communications, and you agree that you do not expect that your personally identifiable information or private communications will always remain private.
Our Commitment to Children's Privacy
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. For that reason, Presto does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information on the Presto Services from persons under 13 years of age, and no part of the Presto Service is directed to persons under 13. If you are under 13 years of age, then please do not use the Presto Services or submit any information to the Presto Services.
We may use your information to notify you of important changes to the Presto Services, new services, and special offers. If you do not want to receive any optional notices, you may click on the opt-out link contained in the notifications emailed to you; however, some email notifications are mandatory and you cannot opt out of receiving them. In addition, opting out may prevent you from receiving email messages regarding updates, improvements, or special offers. If Presto has provided any third party with your personal information, you will have to contact the third-party directly with any opt-out request.
